What is therapy even like…?

With a trauma lens, I tend to dive into what's truly underneath, therapy can take time! AND as an action-oriented person, expect to take home tools to help you in the day-to-day and goals/homework for you to focus on while I'm not around.

These are the common interventions I use…

  • CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy): CBT helps you identify and change unhelpful thoughts - the way we think impacts how we feel and behave!

  • TFCBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy): TFCBT is a type of CBT specifically designed to help people heal from trauma and uses a trauma narrative (or any creative way of sharing your story!) to help process and move forward

  • IFS (Internal Family Systems): IFS looks at the different "parts" of yourself—like your inner critic or your nurturing side—and helps you heal by understanding and balancing them.

  • DBT Skills (Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills): DBT Skills teach practical tools to manage intense emotions, improve relationships, and handle stress more effectively.

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing): EMDR uses guided eye movements to help your brain process trauma or distressing memories so they no longer have a strong emotional impact on you.
